British Council Pakistan says these IELTS fees are effective from 9 June 2026.

Who uses the OET Test as proof of English proficiency?

The UK's Nursing and Midwifery Council asks for at least grade B (350) in Listening, Reading and Speaking and at least C+ (300) in Writing. Two sittings can be combined if they are within 12 months of each other and all four parts were taken each time. The test must be no more than two years old. For an OET taken on or after 23 April 2026, Ahpra's National Boards ask for at least 350 in Listening, 360 in Reading, 350 in Writing and 360 in Speaking. An English test taken on or before 22 April 2026 must meet Ahpra's old minimum scores in Table 1. Table 1 asks for at least B in OET Listening, Reading and Speaking and C+ in Writing. Ireland's NMBI asks for grade B in three components and C+ in one, in a result less than two years old. It does not accept combined results or OET at home. The Nursing Council of New Zealand asks for at least 350 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 300 in Writing. These must be reached within 12 months of the first sitting. It does not accept online tests taken outside an approved test centre.

Do you have to use a template for your OET Writing letter?

The Writing sub-test lasts 45 minutes. The task is a formal letter on a matter of the candidate's own profession, written from case notes. The word range for the letter is 180 to 200 words. It starts with five minutes of reading time. For nurses, OET describes the letter as a referral letter or a discharge letter based on case notes.

After a first full test, OET lets a candidate book one, two or three sub-tests again, on the paper test only and not in the USA: AU$315, AU$415 and AU$515. The UK's Nursing and Midwifery Council combines two sittings only when all four parts were taken each time, so a single sub-test taken alone does not count for it.

OET accepts a valid passport or a valid national ID. For the computer test and OET@Home, a national ID must be in English lettering. A national ID that is not in English must be shown with a certified translated copy on test day. The ID shown on test day must match the ID used to book. A national ID must be issued by the government of the country where you sit the test and show your full name, photograph and date of birth.

Kya Pakistan se OET ghar baith kar (OET@Home) de sakte hain?

OET says every OET profession, nursing included, can sit OET@Home. OET@Home is taken online on the candidate's own computer, with full remote proctoring. The candidate needs a quiet space that meets OET's technical and environmental requirements. OET says OET@Home may not be accepted by every recognising organisation, so candidates should check with theirs first. The OET@Home page shows a fee of AUD 587. Results can come as early as 48 hours after all sub-tests are taken. Australia's National Boards accept the OET only on paper or on computer at a test centre. They do not accept at-home or remotely proctored versions of English tests.
